Midnight Sun
As soon as I started reading Midnight Sun, I was immediately transported back into the world of Twilight, and was reminded of why I fell in love with these it. Girl meets boy… falls in love…. boy just happens to be a Vampire. In case someone isn’t familiar with Twilight… Midnight Sun is a retelling of the original book, from the Vampire’s (Edward) point of view. Hearing Edward’s perspective was so much fun! This is the Edward I remember and love. Getting to see Bella through Edward’s eyes really does make you understand why he fell in love with her.
Unfortunately, some of Edward’s internal dialogue was repetitive. He has a lot of the same thoughts over and over, so some of that could have been edited out. If you’re familiar Twilight, there won’t be any big surprises with the plot. Most of the dialogue is an exact match to the original book, but there are a few new scenes added that were not in the original. Again, I don’t think that all of the new material was necessary. As I said before, this book could have used some editing because it is way longer than it needs to be.
If you’re not already a fan of Twilight, this book won’t change your mind. But, if you’re even a casual fan, then it’s a “MUST READ”. As Meyers says, this book is for the fans!
