Majesty

Majesty - s.jpg

Majesty is the sequel to American Royals and picks up after the shocking ending of the previous book, and now the four girls need to deal with the consequences of their actions. While most of them start in the same situations they were in before, new romances are eventually introduced.

Beatrice shows some real growth here, figuring out who she wants to be with, and who she wants to be. Samantha’s story line was a little predictable, but I was happy to see her finally accept who she really is. Nina kind of took a back seat here, and I wasn’t super invested in her relationship but I did like how she finally stood up for herself at the end. And as for Daphne, as the villain of the series I really wanted to see her get her comeuppance. Instead, I was actually left kind of feeling sorry for her as she finally realized the cost of her decisions.

Fans of American Royals may find Majesty lacking, as it feels like a continuation of the same. But by the end the plot does really pick up and goes in some interesting directions. It was fun to see where all the girls ended up, both in their relationships and in their lives.
